Musings of the Week:

3 Proven Steps to Find Your Unique Creative Voice

Your creative voice isn’t just style—it’s your truth, your edge, the thing that makes your work unmistakably yours. Drawing from my coaching practice, these steps will guide you to uncover it and create with unshakable clarity. Follow them, and you’ll stop doubting and start shining.

Step 1: Mine Your Story

Your voice lives in your experiences—joys, struggles, quirks. Take 10 minutes to write three moments that shaped you: a childhood obsession, a failure that taught you, a win that lit you up. Don’t censor—let it be messy. In my sessions, clients who do this find patterns (like a love for bold colors or raw honesty) that define their work. I once helped a designer pinpoint her chaotic upbringing as her art’s vibrant core. Do this now: grab a pen, list your moments, and spot your thread.

Step 2: Experiment with Constraints

Freedom can overwhelm—limits spark clarity. Pick one constraint for your next project: use only three colors, write 100 words exactly, or create in 15 minutes. Constraints force you to lean on what’s uniquely you. Research shows they boost originality by 30%—it’s why poets love haikus. I coached a musician to limit his song to one chord; he found his signature sound. Try it today: set a constraint, create, and notice what feels like you.

Step 3: Amplify Your Truth

Your voice isn’t quiet—it’s bold when you trust it. Share one piece of work this week that scares you a little—something raw, weird, or deeply personal. Post it, show a friend, or email me. Vulnerability builds confidence; studies say authentic creators connect 40% more with audiences. A client of mine shared her “too personal” poem online—now it’s her brand’s heart. Your outcome? Work that screams you, no apologies. Take that leap this week.

Next Step: Mine your story, set a constraint, and share something true—start with 10 minutes today. Reply with your first step—I’ll cheer you on!

🧘 Wellness Tip: Clarity Pause

Sit still for 2 minutes, eyes closed, and ask, “What’s my truth today?” Let one word or image come to you. Mindfulness research shows that it centers you. Try it!

Defying Resistance

by Frantzces Lys

For a long time, I struggled to do the things I knew would help me move forward—much like knowing you should brush your teeth to avoid cavities, yet still not doing it consistently. I faced a weird paradox where resistance kept getting in my way, whether it was mentally, physically, spiritually, or emotionally. I would inch along, tackling life’s tasks here and there, but it took a long time to break free from that hold. I’m a clinical therapist and plant medicine integration coach. My journey began in 2013 when burnout forced me to reevaluate my life. After a spontaneous move to Thailand in 2016, everything changed. Traveling to 25+ countries, I’ve worked with seven shamans and mentored under another, gaining invaluable insights along the way. I provide one-on-one support, guide psychedelic journeys, and organize plant medicine retreats. Together, we’ll unlock everything within you that’s been locked away.

That’s all for now, Reader! You’re not just creating—you’re claiming your voice. Try my three steps, share your spark with #CreativeZenVoice, or reply—I’m your coach in this. Let’s make your work unforgettable! 🦋 #SelfExpressionIsSelfCare
